While the cars on this list are certainly suitable for someone with the experience and skill to handle what they have to offer if you’re a new driver or you’re going to buy a used car for a new driver, these are models you want to avoid when it’s time to make the purchase. Whether the vehicles offer fewer driving aids, or they’re powerful sports cars, you need to skip these cars when you’re a new driver and put them on the list for when you have several years of experience under your belt.  

Porsche 930 Turbo

This is one of the earliest turbocharged 911 models from Porsche and it’s become famous over the years, but it has a tendency to oversteer in the middle of the corner. This is a tricky car called “the widowmaker” that can challenge the most experienced driver.

Dodge Challenger

As you can see when you look at the Challenger models the power numbers are insane at the top and this car can be hard to handle. If you choose the base model of the Challenger you might be ok, but better to avoid this car altogether.

Toyota MR2 Turbo

Here’s a Porsche that has a history of having a wonky clutch and it can be a car that’s difficult to master even for experienced drivers. Of course, the V10 under the hood is another reason to avoid this car with the incredible power offered for this brute.

Hummer H1

While choosing this car might sound good because it’shard to break and certainly can protect your new driver, its offered very little visibility and a massive size that makes it difficult to drive. You won’t want this brute as a new driver at all.

BMW M4

This car should be one that even a new driver could enjoy, but the 424 horsepower under the hood and the  desire to let loose from behind the wheel makes this a tough choice for a new driver. This car is meant for those who understand how to drive.

Here’s another model that you might think is ok for a new driver, but it’s cheap, badly made, and extremely unreliable. Imagine the experience of standing on the side of the road and not knowing what’s wrong with the car; avoid this one no matter your experience level.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500

You know this brute has a ton of horsepower and is one that you shouldn’t be driving if you’re new behind the wheel. If you want a Mustang, look for some of the base models with a V6 or the EcoBoost four-cylinder under the hood and dress it up.

Jaguar F-Type R Coupe

It really doesn’t matter which F-Type it is, you shouldn’t choose any of them as a new driver. This version of the car has too much power for a new driver to handle, even though it brings you the benefits of AWD to help give you more of what you want.
