Honda 0 Series EVs Promise Style, Autonomy, and Innovation

The Honda 0 Series vehicles are an SUV and a saloon-style sedan that are coming closer to production, giving Honda new EVs with Level 3 autonomy.

Despite having the new Honda Prologue EV in its lineup, Honda would like to create its own EV package without relying on GM and its Ultium battery platform. The new 0 Series models could be the first of many striking and engaging EVs from the brand, giving this brand the look, style, and development required to make Honda EVs with advanced autonomy a reality.

Here’s a little of what we know about the new Honda 0 Series EVs.

Showing off the prototypes

Honda began the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show by revealing the two new models that should be the future of electric vehicles from the brand. The new 0 Series models give us a glimpse at what to expect when Honda brings these two models to the market. They are set to arrive in 2026 and should be part of the 2027 model year lineup.

The SUV has a clean look and sleek style and should be the first to production, which makes perfect sense because most drivers are looking for SUVs and not sedans. The saloon-style sedan was shown at the previous CES event and could arrive in the latter half of 2026.

The step forward

Showing off these two new concept models at CES 2025 is a step closer to the production versions. These two electric vehicles are expected to be put into production and aren’t prototypes or concept models that were created simply to show what Honda can do. The Honda 0 Series models could appear soon, and the saloon car showed up this year with striking similarities to the previous year’s concept, but the SUV appears to be an evolution of the Space Hub concept but has a much trendier crossover look to it.

EVs built in America

Although Honda is a Japan-based company, it has had strong roots in Ohio for many years. These two new electric vehicles will both be part of the production line at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, making them eligible for the Federal EV Tax Credits.

0 SUV

The 0 SUV is bulkier than the sedan but has a raked windshield and a relatively low roofline. The front end has a black panel that houses pixelated headlights and an illuminated Honda logo that sits right above the large bumper, giving the front a futuristic appearance. The black roof gives the SUV a two-tone look, giving this SUV more style than you might expect to enjoy.

0 Saloon

The original impression of the 0 Saloon at the 2024 CES was that it was too low and torpedo-like to become a production model. Apparently, that criticism didn’t change Honda’s goal for the car because it showed up at the 2025 CES with the same style, making it look like a cab-forward, low-slung wedge. The headlights on the Honda 0 Series Saloon have retractable covers, which might not be allowed in the production model, but that’s still to be determined

Going inside

Both of these Honda EVs have similar interior qualities, which makes sense. They feature dashboards dominated by screens, including a digital gauge cluster, central touchscreen, and front passenger display. You’ll also find two peripheral screens displaying the views from the side cameras, giving this car the digital advancements expected to be allowed by 2027. You won’t find many physical controls, which is becoming a common theme in new EVs and futuristic concept vehicles.

Both of the 0 Series models have yoke-style steering wheels, but the seats are different for each model. The SUV seats look more production-ready than those in the Saloon model. The Saloon features a center console with an illuminated glass panel.

Power and driving range targets

The new Honda 0 Series models should feature RWD and AWD setups with electric motors that produce 241 horsepower for the RWD models and an additional 67 horsepower in models that power both axles. The targeted driving range is around 300 miles, but that could be low when these EVs arrive, which may prompt Honda to find ways to improve the driving range before the release of these new models.

What about Level 3 autonomy?

Level 3 autonomy allows the vehicle to handle the driving duties while the driver watches a movie or takes a nap. It’s unclear if this tech will be approved or available at launch, but it could be available and only harnessed by legislative hurdles. Regardless, the Honda 0 Series models should come with a hands-free driving system to make driving on mapped highways more calm and relaxed.
