You may never have to worry about losing your car keys again since Lincoln is all set to introduce its new ‘Phones As A Key’feature.

Thisis fantasticnews, aslong as you don’t misplace your phonetoo, right! But they seemed to have covered all the bases, including this scenario. So let’s take a look at what we can expect from this incrediblenew app.

Throw Away The Key!

Traditional keys are gradually becoming obsolete, and Lincoln apparently saw the big picture and got in line first to offer a new way of operating your vehicle –straight from your smartphone. The new technology makes its debut on the 2020 Lincoln Aviator and allows car owners to lock, unlock, and start their vehicles without an actual key. It operates as a function of its app The Lincoln Way, and the technology promises to eliminate the need to carry a key fob at all. The system is compatible with Android devices and iOS versions 9.0 and higher, operating with Bluetooth to provide connection in areas and situations where there is no Wi-Fi or cell network available.

Operate the Car Straight From Your Phone

When the user and phone are within range (130 feet around the vehicle), the app can operate windows and the trunk hit the panic button or the alarm. Within approximately 10 feet you can open the doorjust like with a key fob. And of course, you can start your car with the app too.

App Can Accommodate Multiple Users

And if someone wants to borrow the car, you don’t have to give them your phone, as the system can handle up to four digital keys. And what happens if you lose your keys and can’t find them? Lincoln thought ahead by offering the keypad entry system wherecar owners can enter a passcode on the door panel.

Dude, Where’s My Car?

The Lincoln Way App also offers standards such as Find Your Car, roadside assistance, and scheduling pickup and delivery for servicing. So if you’re in the market for aLincoln any time soon, toss out your keyrings now, you’re not going to need them –not for your car keys at least!
