Do you Remember the GMC Syclone? If not, the team at SVE will remind you of the original model while offering you a new version of this truck. The original GMC Syclone was offered in 1991 as a midsize truck that has 455 horsepower to give you excellent power and performance during your drive. SVE is bringing this name back and adding more power to make it a truck that has everything you want coming from under the hood.

What Is Happening to the GMC Syclone?

Before concerns can arise for the GMC Syclone name you need to know what the SVE team is using and how they are going about giving you the power desired. The team at Specialty Vehicle Engineering is taking a GMC Canyon midsize pickup truck and adding a supercharger to the mix to give you 750 horsepower from under the hood.

With the massive power offered in the new version of the GMC Syclone, you can rocket off the line and leave some sports cars in the dust. This truck can bring you the power and capability you’ve been missing out on since the original 1991 version of this truck disappeared from the market.

SVE Gives You a Taste of Glory

Without revealing everything about the new version of the GMC Syclone, the team at SVE gave the specs of the power to make it easy for you to see what makes the power. Unleashing this truck for 20201, the SVE team could be packing a massive 6.2-liter V8 engine under the hood along with a supercharger to give you the 750 horsepower but they aren’t giving us all the details yet.

The original version of the GMC Syclone uses a turbocharged 4.3-liter V6 engine and an SVE supercharger to give you 455 horsepower. That was a ton of power in 1991, but not in 2021.

Why Would the V8 Make sense in the GMC Syclone?

Recently, the SVE team took the LT1 V8 engine with 6.2-liters of displacement and created a newer version of the Yenko Camaro to offer 1,000 horsepower for the drive. We don’t expect to find four digits of power from a truck, but the fact that SVE will tune the motor up to give us 750 horsepower is pretty significant. It would be an easy transition to use the same engine and supercharger in the 2021 GMC Syclone and is likely what SVE has done.

Get Ready for the Speed Numbers of the Syclone

We don’t have the speed numbers for the newest version of the GMC Syclone yet, but we should have them in the near future. Just as a reminder, the original version of this truck was able to reach sixty mph in only 4.5 seconds and it was the quickest-accelerating truck in the market at the time. Fewer than 3,000 models of the original were built, and so far, SVE hasn’t released the goal numbers for this new model. Expect the new SVE GMC Syclone to be a limited model that you’ll want to have in your driveway starting in 2021.
