Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk Does It Actually Need More Power

If you’ve been paying attention to the next power model from the team at FCA, you’ll be amazed by the fact that you’ll have the benefit of an incredible vehicle that has been outfitted with the engine that’s amazing and impressive for the drive. The new 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is one that has the benefit of the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine that provides you with the power you want from the Hellcat pair. This amazing vehicle reaches up to 707 horsepower to give you the driving quality and performance you’ll want to have on the road or at the track.

As part of their holiday fun this year, Hennessey Performance Engineering chose to show off the world’s fastest Christmas Tree by attaching the tree to the top of a Dodge Challenger Hellcat. After that fun was completed, the team decided it was time to have a bit more fun and see just how fast the new Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk could be in its stock setting for some fun before they took this vehicle apart and gave it the typical Hennessey treatment that would make it more powerful than before.

The Run to a Top Speed

While most manufacturers have a suggested break-in period for their vehicles, the Hennessey team is a group of engineering and driving experts that can make sure we can have even more fun. With the stock model of the Trackhawk model of the Grand Cherokee, the team was able to make a run to a top speed for this model of 175 mph, which is pretty impressive considering the low number of miles on the vehicle. This is a run that shows up at only five mph less than the claimed top speed of 180 mph.

The video you see below shows this Jeep heading out on the run on the Hennessey proving grounds and the run took between 2 and 2.5 miles for the drive. This impressive SUV was able to accelerate with ease up to 140 mph with a steady hard pull, but for the last 35 mph to the top speed this SUV achieved, it took much longer to reach. Either way, this impressive Jeep can make an amazing ride that is quick and impressive so that you can head out on the track and road to have an amazing ride from behind the wheel.

If you’re going to look for more power than what the 707 horsepower and 645 lb.-ft. of torque that’s found in the 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk, you need to see what Hennessey has in mind. The fact is the Trackhawk doesn’t seem to need to be upgraded with more power, but that has never stopped Hennessey from tuning up a vehicle at all. The plan is for them to put theHPE1000 kit into this vehicle and give it 1,012 horsepower and 969 lb.-ft. of torque to make it possible for this SUV to reach sixty mph in 2.8 seconds while we won’t know what the new top speed will be until Hennessey puts it out on the track to be tested.
