Can a Premium Model Be Exciting?

Buick and Cadillac faced the ire of many of us in the not too distant past because these brands offered comfortable and large vehicles which were no longer keeping up with the rest of the automotive market. Now, these two brands are working hard to differentiate themselves with Cadillac partnering for the performance that can be found from the sibling brand of Chevrolet. Buick has chosen to go a different route and now bears the question of whether or not they can offer us something exciting to drive or if this brand will continue to offer us comfort and little else.

While Buick has done a fantastic job of bringing us models that certainly jump into the modern era and offer the drive and dynamics we’re looking for, they have yet to get sporty with what we see. The convertible Cascada was as close as we came to seeing a sports car from the “new Buick” lineup, but there is another car that’s on its way to the market in the first part of 2018 that will let us see and experience more of what we want on the road when it’s time to push the pedal and see what a car is capable of.

Enter the new Regal GS

The Buick Regal name has been around for a long time and using this name for the sports car offering from this brand makes sense. The Regal is a car that’s been in the position to take on some of the other driving models that are enjoyable, but with this new GS version, you’re going to see this car rocket past many of them. One look at what the Regal GS brings to the market will be all you need to see to know that you’ve got a vehicle that’s a lot of fun to drive.

Starting with the power you’re going to be able to enjoy a 3.6-liter V6 engine that gives you 310 horsepower and 282 lb.-ft. of torque. This impressive power plant is attached to the new nine-speed automatic transmission while also adding the AWD you want to make sure you can carve up the corners on the open roads that you find. Take a walk around this car and you’ll see a sporty style, 19-inch wheels, Brembo performance brakes, a sport-tuned exhaust and a sleek and stylish body that makes this a sedan you’ll love to drive when you have to take the kids to school.

Inside the cabin, you’ll see a head-up display, an impressive layout for the dashboard with an excellent infotainment screen and set of gauges with the display you’re looking for. The seats you sit in are comfortable and sporty with the benefits of adjustable bolsters, heating and cooling, and more. This is a car that is made to offer you the advanced technology you want and the sporty appeal you’ve been searching for in the premium car market. We’ll certainly see more from this amazing car over the next few months and look forward to test-driving the Regal GS at our local Buick Dealer once it’s offered in the early part of next year.
