The loss of the SS was quickly followed by the loss of the Commodore when Chevrolet decided to fold up the tents and leave the Holden name behind. Thankfully, this company in Australia might not be done yet and may have something special up their sleeve that will hopefully make its way to the US in the future.
There is a rumor that’s become more than just hearsay that Holden will begin work on a high-performance Colorado pickup truck. As the company that was trusted to be where the powerful Chevrolet RWD sedan was built, Holden is the perfect place to make sure we can have a truck that will be ready for some fun. This new Colorado will be built via Walkinshaw, which is the brand that backs the Holden Special Vehicles department to help deliver the new Colorado that will be produced for the fun we want on the roads and trails.
What Will the New Colorado Offer?
The look and feel with the new Chevrolet Colorado that will be offered is one that should be offered with a twin-turbocharged V6 engine so that you can have the fun you want with more power for the drive. This engine that will be used will be sourced from one of the premium brands that’s close to Chevrolet, which sounds like it means it came from Cadillac and should be the same engine that’s been used in a couple of the V-Sport models that are built and offered from this impressive luxury brand and it will be perfect for what the Colorado can offer.
How will a tuned up Colorado help the market for this mid-size truck? Of course, the first answer to this is that more power is always attractive in a truck and it may offer us a tuned up model of the ZR2 to be the equivalent to an off-road monster. There’s little doubt this new version of the Colorado will be a lot of fun and the right way to have the drive desired.
