The Ford F-150 continues to be a sales leader, but the Ram 1500 also has a lot to offer in both the regular model and the TRX. Meanwhile, the GM brands lag behind this time, with only the GMC Sierra 1500 cracking the top five.

2025 Ram 1500

The 2025 Ram 1500 is at the top of the list with its upgraded tech, fresh new styling, and a twin-turbo inline-six engine. It starts at $42,270 and gets between 17 and 23 MPG combined depending on the layout and engine. There’s a lot to like about this truck, including an impressively luxurious ride and deluxe cabins on the higher trims. The downsides are that it doesn’t tow as much as some rivals and the most premium versions come with a high price tag. This is a truck that toes the line between work truck and indulgence.

2024 Ram 1500 TRX

Sporting a huge price tag of $98,335, the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX is an incredible off-road beast, but it won’t be around much longer. The TRX is fast, has impressive off-road ability, and sports a luxurious interior. The downsides are the lack of RWD mode, which contributes to its low MPG of 12 combined, and the price tag. The Ram TRX sports a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 under the hood and is one of the quickest trucks on the market despite its lumbering size.

2024 Ford F-150

It’s hard to overlook the Ford F-150 when it comes to the best full-size trucks for sale. The 2024 F-150 starts at $38,960 and gets between 19 and 22 MPG combined depending on the layout. The Ford F-150 sports a well-equipped interior, a huge variety of trims and layouts, and an optional onboard generator. Although it starts lower than rivals, the F-150 gets expensive fast as you move up trims and look at optional powertrains. However, the F-150 has the strongest towing ability for trucks in its segment.

2024 Ford F-150 Raptor

Compared to the Ram 1500 TRX, the F-150 Raptor has a lower starting point of $80,435. It’s also slightly more fuel-efficient with 16 MPG combined. The Raptor excels off-road, it’s incredibly quick, and it also has an impressively smooth ride. The downsides include its price, its size, and the twin-turbo V6 isn’t quite as impressive as a supercharged V8. The good news is that the Raptor’s off-road ability doesn’t dampen its civility on the road, but it’s a very big truck that many buyers might have a hard time fitting into their garage.

2025 GMC Sierra 1500

The 2025 GMC Sierra 1500 is expected to start at $39,000, which slots it in between the Ram 1500 and the Ford F-150 for affordability. The Sierra offers impressive towing ability, a wide variety of configurations, and top-notch camera technology. The top trim doesn’t quite match the Ram 1500 for luxury and it doesn’t have a Raptor or TRX competitor. Even though it’s not quite on the level of the Ram 1500 or the Ford F-150 for the 2024 and 2025 model years, the Sierra 1500 is powerful and capable.

Some honorable mentions for full-size trucks for sale include the 2025 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado ZR2, and the 2024 Toyota Tundra Hybrid.

The top five best full-size trucks for sale from the 2024 and 2025 model years are mostly the ones you’d expect.
