Next, we’ll see a new EV9 SUV next year and then two new models from 2023 until 2030. In addition to this bold goal, Kia plans to have autonomous driving technology in all cars by 2025. Are we seeing the end of driving as we know it now? This might only be the beginning of the future for EVs and autonomous driving.

What New Kia Models Will We See?

While we aren’t sure what all of the future EV plans have in store, we know Kia intends to enter the pickup truck market with a pair of vehicles meant to get a lot of work done. They are also working to build the first dedicated purpose-built vehicle (PBV) for urban mobility. Could this PBV be a small personal transport that works on sidewalks and roads? We’re not sure yet, but that would be pretty cool and give us a great way to get around.

Looking at the Numbers

These new EV plans include several new models for the next few years. Initially, Kia promised 11 EVs by 2025. Now, this brand says they will have 14 by 2027. We might not see all of the new EV models offered in the United States, but the global Kia market will include 14 EVs by 2027. Additionally, Kia intends to reach 1.2 million electric vehicles sold by 2030. This is an increased number of a previously stated goal. To get things started, Kia expects to sell 160,000 electric cars in 2022. If achieved, this would certainly put this brand on the way to its end-of-decade goal.

What Does Kia Currently Offer?

The first model to use the dedicated E-GMP platform is the 20202 Kia EV6 SUV. This is undoubtedly part of the EV plans Kia has, and it’s the vehicle that should be the leader in sales for this category. Consider the EV6 the jumping-off point for the goal to reach 1.2 million models by 2030, and you see why it’s such an incredible SUV. Take a look at what the EV6 offers.

What are the Pros and Cons of this Kia Electric Vehicle?

Pros

Driving range up to 310 miles

Ultra-fast charging capability

1,000 kWh of free charging via Electrify America

Choice of either RWD or AWD

Dedicated EV platform

Excellent style and driving manners

V2L connection

Cons

The price is higher than expected

Cargo room doesn’t match competitors

Sharp Design Meant to Entice Drivers

The new Kia EV6 is extremely attractive and the boldest vehicle we’ve seen from this brand since it arrived in the United States. This is a vehicle capable of giving us a high-riding experience out on any road. If you’ve been looking for the electric SUV that you think will provide you with the drive and qualities you desire, this is for you. The EV6 delivers a spacious cabin with a sleek body style that rivals some of the top EV models in the industry today. If you’re looking for an electric SUV, this Kia is an excellent option. Enjoy the style, benefits, driving range, and features that make the EV6 the new face of the Kia brand.

The Cabin is Much Larger than Expected in the Kia EV6

Usually, a vehicle the size of the EV6 might have a small cabin that fits but isn’t nearly as spacious as what you find in this vehicle. The dedicated platform allows for the area where an engine and transmission tunnel would be to become part of your cabin. The flat floor and spacious room enable this SUV to be smaller but have the same wheelbase as the Kia Telluride at 114.2 inches long. The Telluride is a three-row SUV, while the EV6 is not. This does for you to offer more room for passengers and cargo to fit wherever you need to during your drive.

The Style Brings You the Opposites of this SUV

The contrasts found in nature also make their way to the Kia EV6. This adds to Kia’s EV plans, and it means various shapes and angles appear where you might not expect them. The light elements are much different from anything else you see in the market, and the hands-free tailgate gives you an easy way to fit items in the vehicle when you need to take a drive. The front and rear overhangs are short, giving you the athletic stance you want to enjoy when you feel like pushing this EV harder on the road.

What Features Does the EV6 Offer?

Light Trim (base model)

Heated and cooled 58-kWh battery

Single rear motor

19-inch alloy wheels

LED headlights/taillights

12.3-inch digital instrument panel

Wireless charging

Cloth upholstery

Power-adjustable driver’s seat

Navigation-based intelligent cruise control

Wind Trim

77.4-kWh battery pack

Gloss-black lower front fascia

Powered tailgate

Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) power port

Artificial leather upholstery

Vented front seats

Premium Meridian audio system

GT-Line Trim

Pop-out door handles

Body-colored wheel arches

Powered sunroof

Flat-bottom steering wheel

Deluxe scuff plates

Suede and vegan leather seat trim

Rear parking sensors

Highway Driving Assist 2

Head-up display

360-degree camera system

Enhanced forward-collision avoidance

There Are Some Impressive Options for this SUV

Starting at the Wind trim, the Kia EV6 gives you some options that you might want in your electric SUV. Some of these are:

Heat pump for HVAC system

AWD

Heated steering wheel

Rear parking sensors

Remote Smart Parking Assist

360-degree camera system

Blind-spot view monitor

The GT-Line trim is eligible for:

20-inch alloy wheels

Various seat upholstery

Heated outboard rear seats

You’ll also find some excellent tech upgrades for each trim, giving you more functionality and qualities that enhance your experience with the EV6.

Plenty of Power for the EV6

The Kia EV6 is only the beginning of Kia’s EV plans. Currently, there are three trims offered, with a more powerful GT model arriving later in the year. Will you add to the Kia tally of EV models sold and take the EV6 home to be the electric SUV you love to drive every day?

Kia has big plans to change the future of EV driving and give us several new models between now and the end of the decade.

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false,"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[394,409
2124,2125,2126,411,2127,27
post-2438","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-ev-hybrid","category-kia","tag-ev-plans","tag-ev6","tag-ev9","tag-kia","tag-pbv","tag-trucks

https://i0.wp.com/automotivefly.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/Kias-EV-Plans.png?fit=1000%2C523&ssl=1
["GET
