2025 Toyota Land Cruiser: Minor Changes, Major Off-Road Power

2025 Toyota Land Cruiser: Minor Changes, Major Off-Road Power

In its second year of the new build, the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser has very few changes while dropping the First Edition model for this new model year.

By deleting the First Edition trim from the mix, there are only two available versions of the new Land Cruiser. Toyota added a few new items to this next model year but mostly kept the venerable off-road SUV the same as it was for the 2024 model that arrived after the Land Cruiser name was gone from the market for a year. This new version gives us an impressive off-road SUV that is an upgrade from the midsize 4Runner.

Only minor changes added

Dropping the First Edition trim makes a lot of sense. The 2025 version is no longer a first anything. This new model year comes with a new monotone Heritage Blue color option and a set of integrated liftgate lights in the cargo area. This means the new version has only small upgrades, but that’s not surprising considering how new this Land Cruiser happens to be.

The trims available for the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser are 1958 and Land Cruiser. The starting price has increased by nearly $500 for both models compared to 2024, but this is a small increase considering how much more vehicles will increase in cost from one year to the next.

Mostly unchanged

The 1958 version features a set of circular LED headlights to give it the look and feel of old. The higher-spec Land Cruiser model has slim, rectangular lights that give it a more modern style. This higher trim is also where you’ll find the optional monotone Heritage Blue exterior look and a two-tone model that has a Grayscape roof that can be matched up with the rest of the available colors for this impressive Toyota SUV.

Power for both Land Cruiser trims

The two trims of this Toyota SUV share a powertrain. This system gives you a 2.4-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder paired with an electric motor. This powertrain churns out 326 horsepower and 465 lb-t of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels through an 8-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain delivers more power than the deleted V8 engine and gives the Land Cruiser up to 23 mpg combined, making it a relatively efficient SUV in its class.

What do you get at each trim?

Land Cruiser 1958

The starting point for the 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser is the 1958 model. This trim gives you a full package of impressive features and qualities, including:

Land Cruiser

The next step up is the Land Cruiser trim, which gives this SUV a more luxurious feeling for those looking for a little more from their off-road SUVs. This version gives you:

Optional Land Cruiser features

There aren’t any optional features for the Land Cruiser 1958, but there are several choices for the Land Cruiser trim. This higher trim can be had with the Premium Package, which adds:

Other standalone items for the higher trim are the paint color choices, 20-inch wheels, and a power moonroof.
Will you choose one of the two 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser models to be the off-road midsize SUV that you love to drive and enjoy every day?
