The updated 2024 Ram truck models will soon be at Ram dealers across the country. The TRX is leaving the lineup and Ram is preparing to release the 1500 REV for 2025. The current Ram truck lineup has some minor updates, including some new trims and special editions. However, 2025 is expected to be more of a revolutionary year for Ram.
2024 Ram 1500 Updates
All new models of the 2024 Ram 1500 will be equipped with a tailgate ajar warning feature. The Ram Tradesman Warlock is now available again. This off-road-oriented model includes a rear locking differential, skid plates, a one-inch lift, 33-inch tires, and performance shocks. The bad news for the Ram 1500 lineup is that the turbodiesel powertrain has been discontinued. Another retirement from the lineup is the Ram 1500 TRX.
2024 will be the last year for the supercharged TRX, but it comes in a Final Edition trim as part of its sendoff. Eight exterior colors are available for the Ram 1500, but three of them are specific to the TRX. The special edition of the TRX will include several interior and exterior accents as well. Only 4,000 Final Edition trucks will be produced.
2024 Ram 2500 Updates
For the HD Ram at Ram dealers, there isn’t much new for 2024. Like the Ram 1500, the Ram 2500 will feature a new tailgate ajar warning light. The 2024 Ram 2500 will carry over the Rebel off-road trim, as well as new features like a digital rearview mirror, the Trailer Tow app, and a trailer reverse steering control.
The pros of the Ram 2500 include its comfortable and quality interior, confident towing ability and features, plus several available off-road trims. Cons for the Ram 2500 include its notably sluggish response under heavy load and the diesel engine is paired with an outdated transmission. The 2025 model year may see a fix to some of these negatives.
2024 Ram 3500 Updates
Like the 2500 model, the Ram 3500 was significantly updated for 2023, so only a little is changing for 2024. This truck will also get the tailgate ajar warning light, a new 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, improved trailer cameras, telescoping tow mirrors, and a digital rearview mirror.
Like the 2500, the Ram 3500 features some of the same pros and cons. However, it feels much more settled while towing and is known for its luxurious cabin. Some cons for the Ram 3500 include the outdated transmission on diesel models and a somewhat outdated infotainment system.
What To Expect From the 2025 Ram 1500 REV
While not much is changing for the 2024 Ram truc, we can look ahead to the 2025 Ram 1500 REV. This will be an all-electric truck using the Stellantis STLA EV platform. It should be available at Ram dealers by late 2024. Some of the highlights include 654 horsepower from a dual-motor AWD powertrain and a towing ability of 14,000 pounds. The base range should be around 350 miles, with a larger battery pack available that will bring that up to 500 miles.
With only minor updates for the 2024 Ram truck lineup, we can look forward to the automaker’s electric pickup later in the year.
