Electric vehicles are hitting the market faster than anyone could have anticipated. Which of these models are the value EVs?

How do we determine which electric vehicle offers the greatest value? Although there are certainly more factors than simply price and driving range, these are the two items we’ll consider. With that in mind, we understand there are trucks, SUVs, cars, luxury models, mainstream models, and new brands in this new electric world. That said, it seems to make sense to start with range and price before moving forward to the rest of the features offered.

2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV – 259 Miles – $25,600

The 2023 Chevy Bolt EV is the most value-oriented EV in the market. This small but impressive electric car has a few tricks to make it a great option for many city dwellers looking for a small car to drive. Even if you live in the suburbs and commute to the city, you’ll enjoy the 259 miles of driving range for an affordable price. There’s a better-than-good chance you’ll eventually pay less than $20,000 for this car after the Federal Electric Car Tax Credit.

2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV WT – 400 Miles – $39,900

When the new Work Truck version of the Chevy Silverado EV arrives, it will bring 400 miles of driving range, which is incredible. This new pickup delivers 10,000 pounds of towing capability to make it a great choice for fleet operators. This is easily one of the best value EVs in the market, offering the distance and value-oriented price desired. The GM Ultium-based truck platform gives this pickup the capability necessary, and a new midgate allows the rear of the cab to open to fit longer loads.

2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV – 300 Miles – $30,000

Chevy is taking the electric vehicle market by storm. By the time the 2024 model year opens, there will be five Chevy EVs offering excellent value at every turn. If you like the affordability and usefulness of the Chevy Bolt but want a bit more space in the cabin, the Bolt EUV offers what you’re after. This subcompact crossover SUV has a 200-horsepower electric motor and delivers 247 miles of driving range. The Bolt EUV has room for five people, and it includes a 10.2-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. Get connected using Android Auto and Apple CarPlay while inside this SUV. There’s up to 56.9 cubic feet of cargo room when you fold the rear seats down.

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 6 – 340 Miles – $44,000

The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the next step in the movement for Hyundai to electrify its lineup. This sedan offers five seats and an impressive electric drivetrain to give you 340 miles of driving range. You’ll find Hyundai’s multi-charging technology in the Ioniq 6. This enables the batteries to charge from 10 to 80 percent in only 18 minutes when utilizing the appropriate DC fast-charging station. This sedan has a spacious cabin with sustainable and recycled materials allowing this sedan to be an environmental model.

2023 Hyundai Kona Electric – 258 Miles – $33,550

This 2023 version of the Hyundai Kona Electric is the second generation of this EV. The Kona delivers 201 horsepower and 258 miles of driving range on a single charge. The Hyundai EV only comes in an FWD setup, and it brings you a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and either an 8.0 or 10.25-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. This two-seat EV could be exactly what you want to drive every day, and the kids won’t mind the rear seat because there’s no transmission hump in the middle.

2023 Hyundai Ioniq 5 – 303 Miles – $45,500

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a sport and futuristic electric vehicle that delivers an impressive level of EV value. This small but active SUV is relatively affordable and has been ranked as the top model by several publications. This EV also includes Hyundai’s fast-charging system to take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in only 18 minutes. This means it won’t take long to get the batteries back to the proper level to ensure you’ve got enough driving range to go where you need to go.

2022 Volkswagen ID.4 – 275 Miles – $42,495

To receive the longest driving range in the Volkswagen ID.4, you have to choose the Pro model with the RWD setup. This gives you 275 miles per charge and the affordable price listed. Of course, VW also offers this small crossover with an AWD setup and shorter driving ranges. You’ll find a composed ride and roomy cabin in this SUV, along with a 10-inch touchscreen that supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The VW ID.4 is the first of the new VW electric models to hit the market in the United States.

2023 Nissan Ariya – 304 Miles – $47,190

The newest EV from Nissan is the Ariya. This model offers more EV value to your life than the Leaf, which might seem a bit surprising. The Ariya is an SUV with 304 miles of driving range and plenty of impressive technology. Nissan’s ProPilot Assist is part of the mix. While the Venture+ model delivers the highest level of driving range, other trims reach 216 to 289 miles of range to give you the EV ride you’re after. The Nissan Ariya has a five-seat cabin with comfortable Zero Gravity seats and a flat floor to make it feel spacious.
