GMC Introduces the First-Ever Sierra EV

The introduction of the Sierra EV marks an important point on GMC’s road to offering a full line of EV models. The foray into EV trucks is led by the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition. It offers an estimated 400 miles of range on a full charge and uncompromising traditional truck capability. With the debut of the Sierra EV, GMC will be the only brand to offer three fully electric trucks. The Sierra EV joins the GMC Hummer EV pickup and SUV.

Breaking New Ground

The 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition is breaking new ground for GMC EVs with several key features. In Max Power mode, the Sierra EV Denali Edition makes 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque. With a full charge, it has an estimated range of 400 miles. The Onboard Power Station Pro makes the Sierra EV Denali a rolling power source for a variety of applications. A fast charging system enables the truck to charge 100 miles of range in roughly 10 minutes, which is good enough for the best in the EV truck segment. The Sierra EV Denali also features the largest ever freeform infotainment touchscreen for any Sierra model at 16.8 inches. Other groundbreaking features include:

– Trailering capable Super Cruise driver assistance
– Customizable drive modes
– Air Ride Adaptive Suspension
– EV-enabled propulsion technologies
– Sleek modern interior with authentic premium materials
– GMC-first MultiPro Midgate expandable bed

Next-Generation Power

Featuring an Ultium battery pack, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali offers up to 400 miles on a full charge and the placement of the pack lowers the truck’s center of gravity. Front and rear electric drive units push 754 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque to the wheels through an e4WD system when the truck is in Max Power mode. GM’s revolutionary Ultium Platform was first seen on the Hummer EV super truck, and GM plans to add other trims to the Sierra EV for a wider selection of trailering ranges and general driving range. As previously mentioned, the Sierra EV Denali is an off-board power source, which means it can potentially power a single-family home’s essential functions for up to 21 days. When it comes to charging performance, the truck can charge quickly and it gives owners access to the Ultium Charge 360 program.

GMC Expands Its Lineup

The Sierra EV Denali is another powerful model added to GMC’s lineup of premium trucks and SUVs. Vehicles like the compact GMC Terrain, the full-size GMC Yukon, and the all-new GMC Canyon are ready to take the brand into the next decade with award-winning power and performance. The Sierra EV Denali is expected to deliver powerful performance, intuitive technology, and precise engineering to match other GMC models.

Reservations for the 2024 GMC Sierra EV Denali were made available as of October 22, 2022. The truck will be assembled at GM’s Factory ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly in Michigan.
