As every automotive company in the whole world pumps out new cars, models, and editions every year, it is easy to forget about the classic cars that still exist out there. But, as time goes on, those classic cars will become fewer and fewer, and one day, like dinosaurs, might go extinct if we don’t keep them alive.
Chevrolet is an old brand, they have been around for a long, long time. They have the kind of history that not all automotive brands can be proud of. With a history like this, there is no doubt that Chevy has some truly classic, truly unforgettable vehicles.
So, let’s take a drive down memory lane and revisit some of those classic used cars, specifically the rarest and most forgotten Chevrolet cars of all time.
What classifies a car as a classic? Is it a classic if it was popular during its time and still today? Is it a classic if it was wholly unique and different? Is it a classic if there are only a few models left? The answer to those questions is yes, so let’s dive right in a see these classics, these rare and forgotten vehicles.
1970 Chevelle SS 454 LS6 Classic
This classic car is a beloved vehicle for car-show-goers and hardcore collectors. Its design is sleek and sexy, and this is one of the most coveted cars around. The Chevelle was only made for one year and only 20 in total were put into production. If you ever see one of these, you might want to snap a picture, because there is a real chance you will never see it again.
1997 Chevrolet S-10 Electric
This pickup truck makes the list, not so much because it’s a recognizable classic, but because it is extremely rare and has an interesting story. Introduced in 1997, the idea of a fully electric pickup was revolutionary, too much so. You see, the S-10 Electric came too early, and because of this performed very poorly in reality. It only ran for 47 miles and got up to 70 mph. It was a disappointment, to say the least. Over the course of two years, only 60 of these rare vehicles were made.
1958 Chevrolet Yeoman Two-Door
What separates this vehicle apart from the others on this list, is the fact that it is considerably older, and has a distinguished design. The Yeoman was made for the working class citizen and was unlike any wagon at the time. The interior was made of vinyl and rubber, its owner could wash it with a water bucket and a sponge.
The 1968 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Convertible Classic
The Camaro Z/28 Convertible has it all when it comes to being a rare car and a classic. The Z/28 in itself is an awesome, almost race-ready vehicle, and is known by all who consider themselves car lovers. It’s fast, it’s strong, and it looks absolutely stunning, not to mention it was made in 1968, automatically inducting it into this list of classic, rare cars. For a very special reason, there was only one Z/28 convertible ever made! There are many Z/28s out there, but there is only one that is a convertible, making it one of the rarest cars ever to be made in the history of automobiles.
