In the electric compact crossover world, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 just might be the one to beat as a vehicle that you want to drive every day.
This new model is ready to hit the roads while boasting 300 miles of driving range on a single charge to give you the driving distance you need every day. With that in mind, this SUV is aiming to be the model you choose above the VW ID.4 and Ford Mustang Mach-E.
Driving Range is Just the Beginning
This impressive SUV uses a 77.4-kW battery pack that can produce 225 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. This power delivery means that you have strong acceleration from the electric powertrain and will be able to handle every type of traffic you’ll find during your commute. While this power and drive are excellent, this is only the beginning of the story for the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
If the base level of power, described above, isn’t enough for you, you can choose an AWD model of this Hyundai. This will give you a second electric motor on the front axle and bring you more power for the drive. This means you’ll have 320 horsepower and 446 lb.-ft. of torque when on the road but the range drops to 269 miles on a single charge. If you select the Limited trim, you will see another drop in the range to 244 miles.
How Far Will You Drive?
The new Hyundai E-GMP EV platform is found under the Ioniq 5. This architecture offers 400 and 800-volt charging without the need for adapters. You can charge the Ioniq 5 from ten to eighty percent in 18 minutes using a 350-kW charger and in only 25 mines when using a 150-kW charger. This could be enough to make sure you choose this SUV from Hyundai. The standard 10.9-kW on-board charger can bring the batteries to a full charge in under 7 hours when using a Level 2 home charging system.
You Can Share the Power of the Hyundai Ioniq 5
If you see a stranded electric vehicle on your route, the Ioniq 5 is equipped to help. This SUV has a 1.9-kW power port to charge accessories or a stranded EV.
