Hyundai vs Subaru, Fun Cars Compared

Fun Cars Compared

There’s a big difference between the supercars with their high sticker price and the fun you can get from an affordable sports car. There are two cars being offered that are certainly fun to drive with the dynamic features we want and the tight handling that make it easy to toss these cars in and out of the twists and turns. These two cars are the 2019 Hyundai Veloster Turbo and the Subaru BRZ. With these two cars, you can have the practicality of an affordable car that you can drive every day and the fun that’s offered with both of these models.

Driving Dynamics

The Subaru BRZ is light and makes use of the power offered to make sure you can enjoy the ride while having the confidence needed to carve up the turns. The 205 horsepower and 156 lb.-ft. of torque, you find this car will be more than enough for what you want to enjoy. On the other hand, the Hyundai Veloster Turbo gives you the engaging driving experience with the FWD layout that will surprise you. This car sends 201 horsepower and 195 lb.-ft. of torque to the front wheels to give you the ride and quality you want.

Practicality

In order to have a car that can be driven every day, you have to have a car that meets all your needs. The Veloster has a trunk that’s more practical than the BRZ because the Veloster is a hatchback to give you 19.9 cubic feet of storage with the rear seat up which expands to 44.5 cubic feet when these seats are folded down. The BRZ does lag behind in this category because of the 6.9 cubic-foot trunk area. Both cars offer little in the way of back seat room for passengers, making them better as two-seat coupes with a bit of extra room for your stuff.

Features and Tech

The Subaru BRZ continues to be a car that drives in a more traditional fashion with a great look but very little when it comes to the tech offered. The infotainment system has a wonky feeling to it and there aren’t many driver assistance items at all. On the other hand, the Veloster brings you a wonderful infotainment system with the connectivity you want along with plenty of advanced driver aids to help you stay where you need to on the road and avoid a collision.

Pricing

If pricing is a concern, you’re going to see the Veloster Turbo R-Spec starting at a lower price than the BRZ. The Veloster gives you three different choices with the Turbo as the model you want to drive. The BRZ does offer a pair of upgrades, but the price can come close to $30,000 for the top model of the BRZ while the Veloster says at a price that never reaches over $27,000 for what you want to drive. This makes the Hyundai Veloster Turbo the value choice for you to have the drive that you’re looking for.

The Verdict of What You Want to Drive

What are your priorities when it comes to driving? Do you want a car that has the reliability you want and the fun factor without giving you a lot of the advanced technology that comes with some of the new models? If so, you need to consider the Subaru BRZ. On the other hand, if you want to have a car with advanced features and tech to go along with the fun and practicality you’re looking for, the Hyundai Veloster will be the right choice for you to have the drive you’ve been after for the fun and drive you want.
