Its Heavy Duty Time for the Silverado

Its Heavy Duty Time for the Silverado

We know that the Big Three automakers of the US compete every year for the attention we want to give for the capable vehicles they produce. Many of us have a brand loyalty that runs deep to our bones, but each brand, Ram, Chevrolet/GMC, and Ford work to try and tear us away from our loyalty if it’snot to their brand. The all-new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado HD is a truck that’s ready to carry things forward and give you more of the capability you’re looking for when you head out on the road to get things done.

The New 2020 Chevrolet HD

The new Silverado HD is the strongest, most capable truck of this size that we’ve ever seen. The max towing is increased by 52 percent to give us the ability to pull a load that’s up to 35,500 pounds. This will be the third all-new Silverado offered in just 18 months. There are also 15 available camera views for this truck to make trailering easier for you and several additional safety features offered that can help you feel even more confident when you get behind the wheel of this incredible new truck.

The Size of this new Chevy Truck

As you would expect, the new Silverado HD is longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor. This would make this new truck fall in line with the new half-ton version which is also bigger in every way. The wheelbase of the new Silverado HD is 5.2-inches longer in the Crew Cab models and is scaled for HD customers. There will be five distinct trim levels which are Work Truck, Custom, LT, LTZ, and High Country with 22 different configurations that can be chosen when you’re looking for the right HD truck to drive.

A Pair of Great Powertrains for this Silverado HD

You can choose the base powertrain for the Silverado HD and have the benefits of a 6.6-liter gasoline V8 engine that makes 401 horsepower and 464 lb.-ft.of torque. This engine is attached to a six-speed automatic transmission to give you an increase of 18 percent in the towing capability of this powertrain. The Duramax 6.6-liter turbocharged diesel V8 engine makes 445 horsepower and 910 lb.-ft. of torque while being attached to an all-new Allison ten-speed automatic transmission to give you the 35,500-pound towing capacity for the massive power you’re looking for.
