The Jeep Cherokee has been the compact SUV that we’ve enjoyed driving from Jeep for several years. This was the model that Jeep experimented with by offering a different look, but then it changed to a more classic front appearance. This is an SUV that has been used as a premium model that offers the most comfortable on-road drive in the lineup. For 2019, the Jeep Cherokee will bring us more of the features that we want and offer an upgraded design to appeal to more of us and give what we want on the road.
New Looks and Improved Size in the Jeep Cherokee
The front fascia is redesigned for the 2019 model year with a new hood, LED headlights, daylight running lamps, and fog lights to give us a style that feels much more of a classic Jeep that we can love and admire. There’s a new lightweight, hands-free, power liftgate to make loading and unloading easier. There are also five new wheel designs including premium 19-inch wheels on the Overland models. You’ll find a new open-air freedom look with the available dual-pane sunroof that gives you what you want when you get out and take a drive.
Three Engines to Choose From
The new Jeep Cherokee offers you three different engines to choose from starting with the new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 270 horsepower and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. There’s also a 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 engine that delivers 271 horsepower and 239 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive.
You’ll also see the classic 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder engine that delivers 180 horsepower and 170 lb.-ft. of torque for the drive. There’s an enhanced nine-speed automatic transmission that helps to deliver the power you need to the wheels when you choose the new engine as the one you want.
More Trail Capability in the Jeep Cherokee
The Jeep Cherokee offers the best-in-class trail rating with several systems to choose from. There’s a new Jeep Active Drive I with the next-generation rear drive module that reduces weight while offering better fuel mileage. The Jeep Active Drive II offers you a two-speed Power Transfer Unit and a low range gear reduction. The Jeep Active Drive Lock also has the two-speed Power Transfer Unit but a mechanically locking rear differential. The Jeep Selec-Terrain traction control is offered with up to five customized modes which are Auto, Snot, Sport, Sand/Mud, and Rock.
