Why Do The Keep Upgrading Sedans
Share

If the last two years have shown us anything, it’s the fact that we now admire and desire crossover SUVs much more than sedans. This has led to many different automakers changing their pans in order to invest in the area of the automotive market that happens to be the most impressive and the one that’s selling well than any other right now. It also led to many of the different brands looking to delete some of the sedans they offer, especially if they have more than one model in a particular segment.

Why then does the Kia team continue to upgrade its sedan class and bring us more of these cars? One example of a car that we can pose this question about is the new Kia Forte sedan which finds itself smashed between the Rio and the Optima in the lineup. The reason for the continued development and offering of sedans from this brand is the fact that some of these cars have enjoyed increased sales for Kia. The Forte showed an increase in sales last year with the best sales year ever with more than 117,000 models on the road.

Knowing its Place

Ever since the Kia brand was brought to the market it was considered a bargain brand that showed up with items that we want to drive when we don’t want to spend a lot for the experience on the road. The growth and development of the SUV market comes with one thing that can’t be ignored when it’s time to see what the experience can be. SUVs are more expensive than sedans which makes it more difficult to have an SUV fit the bargain area of the market that can be considered extremely affordable for those who shop this part of the market.

With the Forte bringing the sales numbers that are better than ever, it wouldn’t make any sense for Kia to drop this model at all. The team at Kia has smartly studied what people love about cars, not just the brands, but the features, to include more of the items we tend to enjoy when it’s time to have the drive on a daily basis. This has allowed Kia to be a brand that offers us attractive and enjoyable models that are easier to drive and have the fun needed out on the roads we travel every day.

Over the past few years, we’ve seen a number of models in the same class as the Forte dropped from the market including the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Dart with delays being announced for the Ford Fusion. Even though these other models have been mired and deleted because of slow sales, Kia continues to find the success they want with the Forte that has been offered as a car that fits the class we love to drive in the compact sedan class. It appears the Forte is built right and priced right to be the quality ride that makes sense for you on the road.
