You might not think of a grocery store as being innovative and the place where you’ll find industry advancements, but Whole Foods markets has been on the front lines of changing the way we shop for food for several years. The experience, the quality, and the variety of foods you can find at Whole Foods have made them a leader in the industry with offerings of healthier foods in a larger variety to make sure you can enjoy the meals you prepare and plan for your family. Now, Whole Foods is going to help you keep in driving.
A recent announcement by Whole Foods gives us insight into a partnership with the EV charging company Blink. This partnership will allow Blink to begin to install EV charging points at various US Whole Foods stores to give those of us that drive an EV the opportunity to charge up the vehicle while we shop. This also means a person on the road during a long distance trip could have a great place to stop and charge their vehicle fully while they shop for some food or take advantage of the different stores in the area of the market.
Answering the Needs of Customers
Whole Foods customers tend to shop at this store because of the experience they can have which is focused on service and the atmosphere offered. Adding charging stations for EV drivers adds to that service opportunity to make sure shoppers can have an easy way to charge up while they get their weekly groceries and enjoy the added charge that will be in the vehicle when they return to take a ride. This answers the service needs of customers who already shop at Whole Foods, but it answers another issue for the EV community.
Right now, it can be difficult to find the charging stations needed to make sure you can head down the road and continue your ride. In many areas, EV charging stations are widely available like gas stations are, but adding the Blink stations to the Whole Foods locations around the country help to offer more places where an EV model can be charged up for the ride. This also means more customers will likely park their EV during the charging time and head to the store to check out what Whole Foods has to offer.
The Blink charging stations can be located with the use of the smartphone app offered by the company. The app can relay the information regarding the status of the charge when plugged in by using the Blink cloud-based network. Right now, there are three new Blink locations open at three Whole Foods’ locations in Lancaster, Spring House, and Exton, PA. Look for these stations to come to a Whole Foods market near you in the near future as the partnership continues to grow. If you’re ready to drive an EV model, adding more stations is certainly good news to you as you look for the places you can plug in and charge up.
