While it feels like many automakers are telling us they plan to show up with new models to nearly completely change their lineups over the next several years, into the middle of the next decade. Some of the automakers we see have attempted to tell us they will offer new and nearly autonomous models within the next five years and while that may or may not be true, one automaker is giving us a look deeper into the future of what we’re going to want when we head out for the drive on the roads in our area.
Jaguar has shown off its new Future Type concept model ahead of the Frankfurt Auto Show to let us see what this car could be in the future. The vision of what Jaguar has for the time around 2040 and beyond will have you in the car that’s fully autonomous, arriving at your home and the only part of the vehicle that truly belongs to you will be the wheel. This new mobility idea creates a seamless lifestyle environment for you to have the experience you’re looking for when you choose this car for the future of your mobility.
The Experience
Over the past few years we’ve begun to see the different items that are offered in the world to make our lives better. Apple has Siri and Amazon has Alexa and when this system is created and perfected, Jaguar will have the Sayer system. This system will be in the steering wheel of the car you purchase, which won’t be a car you actually purchase and experience, instead, you’ll have the wheel that you take with you that will have all the information you want to have on the road and at home for your pleasure and enjoyment.
While you make use of Sayer at home to play music, you can also use it as a companion in your home to help you with tasks and schedules that you have to keep. This AI wheel has the ability to allow you to summon the Jaguar that you want to ride in and enjoy on the road. Jaguar hasn’t even taken away the ability for you to drive with this new technology, they have programmed it to let you know when areas that you want to have a drive of your own, making it possible for you to enjoy the drive you want in some places that could put a smile on your face.
Working Toward the Future
Because we don’t plan to see the new Future Type on the market for at least twenty years, Jaguar can spend a lot of time working to research and develop this technology that combines a home and car companion with the driving experience you want, a mobility solution and the ability to have an autonomous vehicle. This goal is certainly more realistic than the thought that we’ll have autonomous driving in just a couple of years, and allows us to continue to be completely interested in Jaguar for the next couple of decades.
